This service is applicable for AIG Car Insurance policyholders, with windscreen coverage add-on.
Purchase Conditions
You may qualify for AIG Malaysia Comprehensive Car Insurance if:
- You are between 24-65 years of age with more than 2 years driving experience
- You have only made a single claim on your vehicle for the past 3 years that is less than RM10,000 or you have not made a claim on your vehicle for the past 3 years
- Your driver's license is valid and not suspended due to road traffic offence(s)
- Your vehicle is not:
- Toyota Hilux
- Toyota Fortuner
- Toyota Vellfire or Toyota Alphard with the sum insured of RM300,000 or more
- Tesla - all models
- Mercedes-Benz - All Hybrid and Electric models
- Motorcycle, Commercial Vehicle or for Commercial usage
- Sports or Performance vehicle
- Unregistered new / reconditioned vehicle
- Modified from manufacturer's specifications to increase engine performance from original
- Your vehicle is within 15 years old from the year of manufacture
- The sum insured for your vehicle is between RM10,000 and RM400,000
Benefits
Vehicle damage due to accident
If your vehicle is damaged after an accident, just bring it in for repairs to our panel workshop and we will take care of the bills. Our dedicated auto claim specialists will liaise with the workshop on accident-related repair costs.
Customisable add-on coverage
We offer a selection of add-on coverage, which suits you and your vehicle while on the road. For an extra premium, you can choose to extend selected coverage such as windscreen, passenger protection plan, special perils (in case of flood or natural events) or accident guard. (Accident related expenses)
Coverage for vehicle fire & theft
We'll reimburse you the market value/agreed value* of your car, in the event of theft or total loss caused by fire. Just make sure you lodge a police report immediately.

Full payout on total car damage
If your vehicle is covered with an agreed value1 policy with us, you'll get the full pay-out on total car damage. It's always recommended to get covered with us on agreed value1 policy.

1. What is this product about?
This policy provides insurance against damage to your own vehicle and/or your liabilities to other parties or death and damage to other parties’ property as a result of a motor accident depending on type of cover selected.
2. What are the covers / benefits provided?
- Comprehensive Cover - accidental or fire damage to your vehicle or theft of your vehicle.
- Third Party Fire & Theft – cover your liability towards third party as a result of motor accident and damage/loss of your vehicle due to fire and/or theft.
- Third Party Cover – it will cover:
- Death or third party bodily injury; and
- Third party property loss or damage.

NOTE: It is an offence under the laws of the Republic of Singapore to enter the country without extending passenger liability cover to your motor insurance.
Duration of cover is for one year. You need to renew the insurance annually. It is advisable that the period of insurance must tally with the period of road tax.

4. How much premium do I have to pay
With the phased motor liberalization, the premium you may need to pay is based on the risk factors such as your age, gender, your vehicle age, make and model, cubic capacity, sum insured, location of your vehicle mostly used and any other factors that may applicable at time of cover issuance.
5. What are the fees and charges that I have to pay?
Commissions paid to the insurance agent: 10% of premium
Stamp duty: RM10.00
Service Tax: 8% of total premium
6. What are some of the key terms and conditions that I should be aware of?
- Who can apply - Anyone between the age of 24 to 65 years old with a valid driving licence for the appropriate class of vehicle. Minimum driving experience is 2 year. Acceptance may be subjected to our internal underwriting guidelines.
- Pursuant to Paragraph 5 of the Schedule 9 of the Financial Services Act 2013, if you are applying for this insurance wholly for purpose unrelated to your trade, business or profession, you have a duty to take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation in answering the questions in the Proposal Form (or when you apply for this insurance).
- You must answer the questions fully and accurately.
- Failure to take reasonable care in answering the questions may result in avoidance of your contract of insurance, refusal or reduction of your claim(s), change of terms or termination of your contract of insurance.
- The above duty of disclosure shall continue until the time your contract of insurance is entered into, varied or renewed with us.
- In addition to answering the questions in the Proposal Form (or when you apply for this insurance), you are required to disclose any other matter that you know to be relevant to our decision in accepting the risks and determining the rates and terms to be applied.
- You also have a duty to tell us immediately if at any time after your contract of insurance has been entered into, varied or renewed with us any of the information given in the Proposal Form (or when you have applied for this insurance) is inaccurate or has changed.
- The excess that is the amount of loss you have to bear in the event of an accident. There is an additional excess of RM400 in case of accident where your vehicle is driven by a person not named in your policy, below the age of 21 or still under probational licence (P) (for Comprehensive Private Car).
- Betterment charges (if you involve in accident and the damaged parts are replaced with new parts) will apply for vehicles age 5 years and above.
- You must ensure that your vehicle is insured at the appropriate amount.
- You have to maintain your vehicle in a roadworthy condition
- Motor is a Cash Before Cover policy. Payment must be made upfront before cover can be issued.
7. What are the major exclusions under this policy?
This policy does not cover certain losses, such as:
- Your own death or bodily injury due to a motor accident;
- Your liability against claims from passengers in your vehicle; and
- Loss, damage or liability arising from an act of nature i.e. flood, storm or landslide.
